Samsung’s Micro RGB R95H is the company’s latest foray into microLED displays, and it’s an impressive piece of technology — though not without its compromises. After spending time with it, here’s the verdict.
The Good
Setup is extremely easy. The remote is simple to use, and once everything’s up and running, the picture quality is excellent. Samsung’s AI Soccer Mode Pro is a standout feature, making sports broadcasts more vivid and improving sound clarity significantly. Colors are rich, and the microLED technology delivers the deep blacks and high contrast you’d expect from a premium display.
The Not-So-Good
The main drawback? It’s not as bright as we’d hoped. While still very watchable, the R95H doesn’t reach the peak brightness levels of comparable LG or Hisense RGB models. Colors also didn’t look as mind-blowing or realistic as we’ve seen from competitors. The TV isn’t as customizable either — calibration options are more limited. We also encountered some minor bugs with streaming apps, though nothing that a firmware update couldn’t fix.
Who Is It For?
If you’re a Samsung loyalist or want microLED technology without going to the extreme high end, the R95H is a solid choice. The AI sports modes and ease of use are genuine highlights. But if raw brightness and customization are your top priorities, the competing LG and Hisense models offer better value for the money. The R95H is good — it just doesn’t quite live up to the “brightest” billing.
