Google Finance is not a new product — it’s been around for two decades, long enough that it originally relied on Flash to display charts and graphs. The site has received several significant updates over the years, but it has never had a dedicated mobile app — until now.
The First-Ever Google Finance App
Google has released the first standalone app for Google Finance, currently exclusive to Android, with an iOS version promised for later in 2026. The app is available globally on the Play Store, but that’s not the only update to Google Finance this year.
The app is powered by AI, offering features like “key moments” for stock performance charts — narrated explanations of why stock prices changed at specific points in time. This feature launched within the Finance web interface back in May and is now making its way to the mobile experience.
AI-Powered Features
The mobile app also includes Google’s new AI learning tool, accessible through a floating “Ask” button at the bottom of the UI. Users can chat with Google’s finance-tuned AI assistant about stocks, market trends, and investment questions. A History tab in the bottom bar makes it easy to revisit previous conversations.
