For the first time ever, a camera system consisting of three 200-megapixel sensors could hit the market this fall, as a reliable leaker is currently reporting. The new Hasselblad camera in the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max boasts a total of 600 megapixels, even in the latest prototype version.

Megapixels aren’t everything—most people know that, of course. However, manufacturers still seem to enjoy advertising 200 megapixels in their telephoto and main cameras, and especially for the crop-zoom areas of modern smartphone cameras, more megapixels can actually mean better quality. We’ve already gotten used to dual 200-megapixel sensors, like in the Vivo X300 Ultra or Oppo Find X9 Ultra. The entire Xiaomi 18 series is also expected to feature two 200-megapixel sensors for wide-angle and telephoto starting this fall.
But a 200-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera in addition to a 200-megapixel main camera and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera would be a new level of megapixel ambition. According to earlier hints from Digital Chat Station, this kind of “600-megapixel monster” is planned for the Hasselblad camera on the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max this fall. Most recently, the generally very reliable leaker posted an update on Weibo, emphasizing that even the latest prototypes still feature this triple 200-megapixel camera setup, though the configuration has not yet been finalized for mass production.
If Oppo were to actually launch a device with such a triple-camera setup, we would likely see two 200-megapixel sensors, each approximately 1/1.3 inches in size, for the main camera and telephoto lens, while the sensor for the ultra-wide-angle shooter would be smaller but at 1/1.5 inches still much larger than the standard 50-megapixel sensor used in ultra-wide-angle cameras. The common ISOCELL JN1 measures about 1/2.76 inches, for example, which is significantly smaller. However, a second Oppo Find X10 Pro Max test version equipped with a classic 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens cannot be ruled out at this time.
