Three color options for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max have reportedly leaked, showing what appear to be aluminum frame components in Dark Cherry, Cloud Blue, and black finishes.
The leaked images, shared by industry tipsters, show the metal chassis frames in what would be a departure from recent iPhone color palettes. The standout is “Dark Cherry”—a deep red-wine hue that Apple has long been rumored to introduce as a hero color for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
Return to aluminum?
If genuine, the aluminum frames would mark a shift from the stainless steel and titanium frames Apple has used in recent Pro models. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro series used titanium, while the iPhone 17 Pro models reportedly experimented with a combination of materials. A return to aluminum could help reduce weight and production costs, though it may raise questions about durability compared to the titanium frames used in recent generations.
The “Cloud Blue” option shown in the leak is a muted pastel blue—distinct from the brighter blue finishes Apple has offered in the past. The standard black option completes the trio, likely serving as the safe choice for most buyers.
As with all leaks, it’s worth noting that Apple’s final designs and color selections may differ from what’s shown here. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to launch in September alongside the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18 Pro models.
