A well-respected leaker has dropped some alleged specs for Google’s upcoming “a-series” device, and if accurate, it could be one of the best Pixel A-series phones in years. There’s at least one major surprise hidden in there that we frankly didn’t expect — the chipset.
When Google launched the Pixel 10a in March 2026, one of the biggest complaints from potential buyers was the chipset. Google chose to stick with last year’s Tensor G4, which was just one of the reasons the 10a felt a bit too similar to the Pixel 9a. But if these new rumors are correct, the Pixel 11a could come packing the latest and greatest Tensor G6 chipset. Thanks to early Pixel 11 leaks, we already know a fair bit about that chip, and it sounds genuinely impressive. So much so, in fact, that it could become the first true 2nm chip to hit the market — on the Pixel 11 family, at least, which is set to be unveiled on August 12. The Pixel 11a is still several months away by all accounts; we can likely expect it around March 2027.
Mystic Leaks also shared several other rumored Pixel 11a specs. The device curiously carries the internal codename “Formosan.” It is expected to pack a 6.30-inch 1080p display with a peak max brightness of 2,250 nits and a peak HDR brightness of 3,350 nits, along with solid HDR support. The Pixel 11a will likely stick with 8GB of RAM as a baseline, and the phone’s alleged “minimum battery capacity” is 4,870 mAh. That wording can be confusing, but for what it’s worth, most batteries do list a minimum rated capacity among their specifications — though that number isn’t the one advertised to users. So, in all likelihood, the Pixel 11a will either retain the same 5,100 mAh typical capacity cell as the Pixel 10a or, at worst, see a slight reduction to around 5,000 mAh. That’s our best guess, at least.
As we mentioned, the Pixel 11a could be rocking the Tensor G6 chipset, but more likely, it will feature a slightly downclocked version of it. While that might take the edge off raw performance, other features like the rumored new MediaTek M90 modem should still make the cut. Rumors also suggest the Pixel 11a will ship with the same Titan M3 security chip found across the Pixel 11 family.
Another leaker has tipped a new front-facing camera for the Pixel 11a. Unfortunately, we don’t have many details yet beyond an alleged codename — “dokkaebi.” Finally, the rumored color options for the Pixel 11a include black, green, red, and silver.
