Leak: Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 (Pro) to receive camera upgrades for global launch

The Redmi Note 17 Pro features a relatively compact 6.83-inch display. The 120Hz AMOLED panel is said to offer a higher resolution of 2,772 x 1,280 pixels and a peak HDR brightness of 3,500 nits. The Pro model is also said to be significantly more durable, with the display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an IP68-certified, water-resistant body.

While Xiaomi is expected to keep the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 from the Chinese version, two camera upgrades are reportedly planned for the global launch. First, the 50MP main camera is said to be paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera instead of a pointless 2MP sensor. Second, the Pro model will reportedly get a bump to a 16MP front-facing camera.

In exchange, the battery capacity is expected to shrink from 9,000mAh to 8,340mAh. Those who opt for the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will apparently get nearly identical specs to the Note 17 Pro, but with a faster Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, a 32MP selfie camera, and a larger 9,210mAh battery with 100W fast charging.
