Infinix’s official Hot 70 series has just started its global journey, and we’ve got the inaugural device — the Hot 70 — in the office and ready for an unboxing.
The Infinix Hot 70 ships with a nice case with a color-matching frame bumper, a 45W charger with a USB-A cable, USB-C earbuds, and the phone itself.
Ours is the Thermo Orange color, but there’s also Green Texture, Restful Violet, Dive Blue, Silver Dancer, and Evening Pulse. The orange model has a neat trick up its sleeve: a heat-reactive rear panel. It gets darker when cold and brighter when hot.
A nice case, and a 45W charger
Infinix’s Hot phones typically impress with thin and lightweight bodies, and the 70 follows that pattern. It measures 7.5mm and weighs just under 200g. Impressively, it has an additional customizable button on the side and a 6,000mAh battery inside.
The buttons have great tactility and press firmly. The additional button stands out with its orange color and textured surface. The Hot 70 feels very slim and refined in the hand. The nearly flush camera system is refreshing in a world full of bulging camera islands.
We tried to get the Thermo Orange Hot 70 to show us a color-changing display, but it wasn’t in the mood. In the shots below, the phone on the left was chilled in the freezer for 5 minutes, while the phone on the right was left on a sun-soaked surface in 27°C weather for 20 minutes. We can almost see a difference, but it’s quite subtle.

The 6.78-inch IPS LCD display gets decently bright and is fluid at 120Hz. However, the 720p resolution is stretched very thin on the nearly 7-inch canvas. You can see some graininess in fine details like text — some cost-cutting here. That’s to be expected for a phone vying for an aggressive price point. We’re still in the dark about exactly how much the Hot 70 will cost, but we’re expecting a competitive price.
