Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 One UI 8 Beta 2: New Features and Improvements

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Receives Second One UI 8 Beta Update

Samsung has rolled out the second One UI 8 beta update for the Galaxy Z Fold6, bringing important improvements and new features based on Android 16. The update addresses several issues reported by beta testers and introduces enhancements specifically optimized for the foldable form factor.

What’s New in the Second Beta

The second One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold6 includes several key improvements. The multi-window experience has been refined with better app pairing and resizing capabilities. Samsung has also improved the cover screen-to-main display transition, making it smoother when unfolding the device. Taskbar customization has been expanded, allowing users to pin more apps and create folder groups directly on the taskbar.

Camera and Performance Improvements

Samsung has addressed camera performance with updated processing algorithms that improve low-light photography and reduce shutter lag. The Flex Mode camera interface now supports more third-party apps. Performance optimizations include better RAM management for the 12GB configuration and improved battery efficiency during extended use.

One UI 8 Features Exclusive to Foldables

One UI 8 introduces foldable-specific features including enhanced App Pair functionality that remembers your most-used combinations, a new Flex Mode panel that provides quick access to controls when the phone is partially folded, and improved drag-and-drop support across split-screen apps. The update also brings Galaxy AI enhancements that leverage the foldable’s unique form factor for tasks like translating text displayed on one half of the screen while showing the original on the other.

Update Availability

The second beta is currently available to registered One UI Beta Program members in South Korea, the US, and select European markets. The stable release is expected within the coming weeks, with the Galaxy Z Fold6 being among the first devices to receive it. The update size is approximately 1.2GB.
