The flagship smartphone market is unusually generous right now. Apple’s ultra-thin iPhone Air and the standard iPhone 17 have both received significant price cuts, while Samsung’s Galaxy S26 lineup and Google’s Pixel 10 series are all seeing competitive discounts. If you have been waiting to upgrade, this might be the week.
iPhone Air — Up to €480 Off
Apple’s thinnest iPhone ever is currently discounted by up to €480. For that price, you get a 6.5-inch LTPO display with 120Hz refresh rate and the A19 Pro chipset. The 3,149 mAh battery delivered a respectable 12:44 hours in our Active Use test, and MagSafe accessories can extend that further. The compromise remains the single 48MP (1/1.56″) camera — versatile, but not class-leading.
iPhone 17 — The Smaller Sibling Gets Cheaper
The 6.3-inch iPhone 17 pairs a 120Hz LTPO display with the standard A19 chip (similar CPU/GPU to the Pro, less cache). It adds a 48MP ultra-wide (120°) alongside the 48MP main camera. Despite being shorter and narrower than the Air, it is thicker and heavier — but packs a larger 3,692 mAh battery that lasts 14:59 hours in Active Use.
Samsung Galaxy S26 — Exynos 2600, Dedicated Telephoto
Also at 6.3 inches with LTPO, the European Galaxy S26 runs the Exynos 2600. Its 4,300 mAh battery edges out the iPhone at 15:20 hours. The camera system is a standout: 50MP main (1/1.56″), dedicated 10MP 3x/67mm telephoto, and 12MP ultra-wide. That optical zoom remains a rarity at this price point.
Google Pixel 10 — Budget Flagship With a Real Telephoto
The vanilla Pixel 10 keeps the 6.3-inch form factor but drops LTPO for a standard OLED. Tensor G5 lags behind Apple and Samsung silicon, but you do get a dedicated 10.8MP 5x/112mm periscope telephoto alongside a 48MP main (1/2.0″) and 13MP ultra-wide. The 4,970 mAh battery is the largest here, yet Active Use came in at a disappointing 12:08 hours.
Pixel 10 Pro — LTPO and Better Sensors
Step up to the Pro for an LTPO panel, a larger 1/1.31″ 50MP main sensor, and a 48MP 5x/113mm periscope telephoto. Ultra-wide and selfie cameras get 48MP and 42MP sensors respectively. The Tensor G5 and middling battery life remain the weak links.
Galaxy S26+ — Bigger Screen, Better Battery
The 6.7-inch LTPO S26+ shares the Exynos 2600 and camera setup with the vanilla S26, but the 4,900 mAh battery delivers an excellent 16:25 hours. With only €100 separating 256GB models and under €200 between 512GB tiers, the S26 Ultra becomes a compelling alternative.
Galaxy S26 Ultra — The One to Beat
Our head-to-head found the Ultra’s advantages extensive: larger display, S Pen, superior camera versatility (200MP main, dual telephotos), and faster charging. The price premium over the S26+ is justified for power users.
Pixel 10 Pro XL — Big Screen, Same Compromises
A 6.8-inch display and 5,200 mAh battery (12:29 hours Active Use) distinguish the XL from the Pro. Otherwise, identical specs — including the Tensor G5 limitations.
Motorola Razr 60 Ultra — The Foldable Value Play
At €650 for 12/256GB, the previous-gen Razr 60 Ultra undercuts the new €1,400 Razr 70 Ultra significantly. The 70 Ultra offers only minor improvements: 5,000 vs 4,500 nits peak brightness, 5,000 vs 4,700 mAh battery, and an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite. It still lacks a telephoto lens and USB 3.0.
Bottom Line
Best overall value: Galaxy S26 (telephoto + battery + price).
Best iOS value: iPhone 17 (better battery than Air, same chip family).
