Weekly poll results: iOS 27 is okay, just okay

iOS 27 was met with a resounding “it’s okay” in last week’s poll. The sentiment among iPhone users leans positive overall, but most voters couldn’t muster enough enthusiasm to pick the “love it” option.

To be fair, this release had the unenviable task of sanding off the rough edges of the major Liquid Glass redesign and finally delivering on AI promises that Apple made a long time ago. Remember all those Apple Intelligence demos during the iPhone 16 launch? Siri AI is finally launching later this year, likely alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models.

Even if you’re excited about AI, there’s a waitlist for those who want to try the new and improved Siri — even if you’re already running the iOS 27 beta. That means the headline feature of this release isn’t ready for prime time, leaving iOS 27 as primarily a maintenance release. That’s hard to get excited about.

Still, the “love it” votes outnumber the “hate it” votes two-to-one, so plenty of users dig the new version. Even if it’s something small like being able to set alarm and ringtone volumes separately or opening Control Center from an external display, the refinements are appreciated.
