One of our readers reached out to let us know that their Xiaomi 17 has received the stable Android 17 update. Confusingly, Xiaomi calls it HyperOS 3.0—the same HyperOS version number as the Android 16-based software—but make no mistake: this is the real deal. Android 17 is here for Xiaomi flagships.
This puts Xiaomi among the very first manufacturers—outside of Google’s Pixel lineup—to ship stable Android 17. The Pixel series, from the Pixel 6 onward, received Android 17 back in mid-June. Most other manufacturers are still running beta programs, making Xiaomi’s rollout notably early.
What’s in the Update
Our tipster is based in India and received firmware with the build number OS3.0.331.0.XPCINXM.C10, carrying a June 5, 2026 security patch. We have also heard that the rollout is underway in European and other global markets.
The update presents itself as a routine security patch, but the 7.2 GB download size tells the real story—this is a full OS upgrade. Despite HyperOS keeping the same version number, underneath the hood it is a complete Android 17 migration.
Which Models Are Getting It
Confirmed devices receiving the Android 17 update include:
- Xiaomi 17 — the standard flagship
- Xiaomi 17 Ultra — the camera-focused flagship
- Xiaomi 17T Pro — the performance-focused variant, getting flagship treatment
Interestingly, the standard Xiaomi 17T does not appear to be included in this initial rollout wave. If you own a vanilla 17T and have received Android 17, let us know!
How to Check
If your Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra, or 17T Pro is prompting you about a security patch update, go ahead and install it. You will likely be one of the first non-Pixel users running the latest Android version. Head to Settings > About Phone > Software Update to check manually.
