Samsung Galaxy Fold8 Series and Z Flip8 Coverage Wrap-Up

Yesterday, Samsung launched the newest generation of its Galaxy foldable lineup — confusingly called the Galaxy Z Fold8, though it’s not a Z Fold7 successor. Instead, it’s a new form factor for Samsung that combines a 16:9 cover display with a 4:3 interior display.

The Z Fold7 successor is now called the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Thanks to silicon-carbon battery technology, it packs a 5,000mAh battery — 600mAh larger than its predecessor. There’s also the Galaxy Z Flip8, which is slimmer and lighter, though there’s no Flip FE this time around. Both the Flip and Fold got more expensive.

Check out our hands-on review of the new foldables. We also have a post diving into the differences between the Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra. There’s a hands-on review of the new watches too — the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and the Watch9. We even looked at Samsung’s AI glasses, though those won’t hit the market anytime soon. Speaking of which, the Z Foldables are on pre-order until August 7.
