Intel has unveiled its Core Series 3 processors, the more affordable counterparts to the recently launched Core Ultra Series 3 (codenamed Panther Lake). Notably missing the “Ultra” branding, these chips target budget-conscious consumers and small businesses on a five-year upgrade cycle.
Built on Intel 18A Process Technology
The Core Series 3 is manufactured on Intel’s 18A process node, which the company describes as “the most advanced logic node developed and manufactured in the US.” Compared to a five-year-old PC powered by a Core i7-1185G7, Intel claims up to 47% better single-thread performance, up to 41% better multi-thread performance, and up to 2.8x better GPU AI performance.
First “Hybrid AI-Ready Core Series” ProcessorsThese are Intel’s first “hybrid AI-ready Core Series” processors, supporting AI workloads with up to 40 platform TOPS. They feature up to two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Bluetooth 6, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Intel designed them for all-day battery life with up to 64% lower processor power compared to the previous-gen Core 7 150U.

All SKUs feature 6 cores except the entry-level Core 3 304 with 5 cores. Maximum Turbo frequencies range from 4.3GHz to 4.8GHz. All share 6MB of Smart Cache LLC. Higher-end models get better NPUs and GPUs. Memory support includes LP5/X 7467 and DDR5 6400, up to 48GB (LP5/x) or 64GB (DDR5). Base power is 15W across the board, with max turbo power at 35W.
