DJI is building anticipation for its upcoming Osmo Pocket 4P compact camera system, following the release of the standard Osmo Pocket 4 last month. While the company initially launched only the base model, the much-rumored “Pro” variant (which DJI refers to internally as the 4P to avoid using the “Pro” designation) is confirmed to be on the way with an imminent international launch.
The confirmation comes from a teaser video published on DJI’s official YouTube channel, which showcers the device from multiple angles and confirms its key selling point: the addition of a second camera. This secondary lens is specified as a telephoto with 3x optical zoom, designed to complement the main camera – which appears to be the same 1-inch sensor used in the standard Osmo Pocket 4.
The device’s tagline has been revealed as “See More. Tell More.”, suggesting the telephoto capability will significantly expand creative possibilities for users. While pricing details aren’t yet available, the comparison between the base Pocket 4 and the 4P variant will likely highlight the premium added for this telephoto capability.
The Osmo Pocket 4P appears to be DJI’s response to consumer demand for greater versatility in their popular pocket-sized gimbal camera line, offering enhanced zoom capabilities while maintaining the compact, portable form factor that has made the series popular among vloggers, travelers, and content creators who need professional-quality video in a highly portable package.
As with previous Osmo Pocket releases, we can expect the 4P to feature DJI’s renowned stabilization technology, intuitive controls, and seamless smartphone integration – now expanded with telephoto capabilities for subjects that are farther away or when optical zoom is preferred over digital cropping.
