After 16 years of iOS exclusivity and half a decade since Phocus Mobile 2 launched for iPhones, Hasselblad has finally brought its professional-grade Phocus Mobile app to Android. The app is compatible with the Hasselblad X2D II, X2D 100C, and 907X & CFV 100C cameras.
The app delivers the full Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS) workflow on mobile, combining AI-powered noise reduction with a comprehensive editing suite and image management tools. Android users can now review, edit, organize, and export their Hasselblad images directly from their phones.
Color accuracy is a key highlight. From preview to export, the app preserves tonal gradations, highlight details, and natural color reproduction. On Android devices that support HDR, images captured with the X2D II 100C display intricate shadow detail, luminous highlights, and color gradations that closely match what the human eye perceives.
For low-light shooting at high ISOs, the AI-powered RAW noise reduction algorithm delivers cleaner, more natural-looking images while preserving fine detail. Processing takes roughly 15 to 20 seconds for a 100MP RAW file. Users can choose between Purity Mode, which focuses on maximum noise suppression, and Detail Mode, which retains luminance noise to preserve fine textures.
Phocus Mobile for Android includes a full editing toolkit: exposure adjustments, curves, white balance, monochrome correction, lens correction, noise reduction, sharpening, cropping, rotation, and keystone correction. Settings can be applied in batches for efficient workflows. Images transfer via Wi-Fi or USB-C cable, and exports are available in JPG, TIFF, HEIF, 3FR, and RAW formats.
