Motorola is set to unveil the Edge 70 Max on July 15, and the details just keep getting better. The company has already revealed the phone’s design and confirmed the chipset powering it. Now, Indian online retailer Flipkart has spilled the beans on some of the most important specifications, including battery capacity and charging speed.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max will pack a massive 7,100 mAh battery. That is a seriously large cell, even by modern smartphone standards. When it is time to top up, the phone supports 90W wired charging. And on the wireless front, Motorola is promising what it calls the “category’s only fast magnetic wireless charging” at 25W.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will handle performance, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. To keep everything running cool, Motorola has equipped the Edge 70 Max with an ArcticMesh cooling system featuring a 5,500 mm² vapor chamber. That should help maintain peak performance during extended gaming sessions or demanding workloads.
On the display side, Motorola had previously confirmed the Edge 70 Max would feature a QuadHD+ panel with a staggering 7,000 nits peak brightness. Flipkart has now added more detail: the screen is an LTPO panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and 10-bit color depth. That combination promises smooth scrolling, vibrant colors, and excellent durability.
Build quality appears to be a priority as well. The back panel is covered in glass, while the frame is constructed from aluminum. The phone is also advertised with support for 120 FPS gaming in BGMI, a popular battle royale title in India, suggesting that Motorola is targeting mobile gamers with this device.
With a launch just around the corner, the Edge 70 Max is shaping up to be one of the most compelling flagship phones of the year. The combination of a huge battery, blazing-fast charging, and top-tier performance makes it a device worth watching.
