Samsung’s highly anticipated trio of foldables has surfaced ahead of their official launch, spotted in their home market of South Korea. A Reddit user posted an image showing the Galaxy Z Fold8 front and center, flanked by the Z Flip8 on the left and the Z Fold8 Ultra on the right. The devices were reportedly lined up at a Samsung retail store, with an employee on site confirming that these were indeed the unreleased foldables.
This is our first look at the Fold8 in a semi-unfolded state. One detail that stands out is the two-part hinge design, which features a dark element in the middle. It remains to be seen how this hinge will function and what advantages it might bring in terms of minimizing the folding display’s crease — one of the persistent challenges in foldable phone design.
According to recent leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold8 will start at $1,899 in the US for the 256GB storage model, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will reportedly cost $2,099. In South Korea, the Fold8 is expected to launch at KRW 2,278,000 (around $1,499), and the Fold8 Ultra at KRW 2,577,000 (around $1,685). The Galaxy Z Flip8, meanwhile, is expected to come in at KRW 1,683,000 (approximately $1,099).
All three foldables are expected to be unveiled on July 22 at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in London. The event promises to be one of the biggest in Samsung’s calendar, marking the next chapter in the company’s foldable journey. With the Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, and Flip8, Samsung is covering a wide range of the foldable market — from the compact clamshell form factor to the flagship book-style foldable and a premium ultra variant.
The competition in the foldable space is heating up, but with this lineup, Samsung is making it clear that it intends to stay ahead of the pack.
