Expert’s Rating: 4.5/5
The Segway Navimow i210 LiDAR combines smart navigation with an exceptionally easy user experience. The end result is a robotic lawnmower that simply gets the job done day after day.
This isn’t the robotic lawnmower for those with the most extreme yard on the block. But for more typical backyards, it’s hard not to be impressed. The setup is among the easiest I’ve tested, the app is well thought out, and the navigation impresses time and time again. The fact that it also handles obstacles so smoothly and never got stuck on my test lawn makes for a truly positive overall experience.
Setup and Navigation
The Navimow i210 uses LiDAR-based navigation, which means it maps your lawn in real time without the need for boundary wires. This is a significant advantage over older-generation robotic mowers that require burying a perimeter wire around your entire yard. Setup is straightforward: place the charging station, let the mower scan the area, and define your mowing zones through the app.
Obstacle Detection
One of the standout features is the obstacle detection system, which combines LiDAR with a VisionFence AI camera. The mower reliably avoids toys, garden tools, pets, and even changes in terrain. Over the testing period, it never once bumped into anything it shouldn’t have — a refreshing change from earlier robotic mowers that treated everything as an obstacle to be rammed into.
Noise Level
At 59 dB, the robot is significantly quieter than a traditional lawnmower. You can have it running while working in the garden or even during early morning hours without disturbing the neighbors.
Docking and Reliability
Throughout the testing period, the Navimow i210 never failed to find its way back to or dock at the charging station. That might sound obvious, but not all robotic lawnmowers manage this reliably.
