Huntress Adds Four Distributors to Expand SMB and Public-Sector Security Reach

Huntress, a cybersecurity company, has signed distribution agreements with Ingram Micro, Vertosoft, Liquid PC, and QBS Software — extending its managed security platform into reseller, public-sector, and mid-market channels across the U.K., Europe, and the United States.

The Columbia, Maryland-based vendor announced the deals on May 5, stating that all four distributors will carry its Agentic Security Platform and 24/7 AI-driven Security Operations Center (SOC) through partner ecosystems already serving small and medium businesses, municipalities, schools, and mid-market organizations.

Opening New Channel Access Points

Each distributor brings a specific strategic advantage:

  • Ingram Micro provides a route into the Microsoft channel where solution providers, VARs, and MSPs operate.
  • Vertosoft opens a dedicated public-sector pathway.
  • Liquid PC extends reseller and MSP reach.
  • QBS Software creates a pathway into the U.K. and European mid-market.

Reaching SMBs Through Ingram Micro’s Network

Ingram Micro’s latest 10-K filing shows the distributor serves more than 165,000 reseller customers worldwide and partners with suppliers including Microsoft, AWS, Google Cloud, and Cisco. The filing also notes that Ingram’s cloud marketplace supports over 200 cloud solutions and manages more than 40 million seats.

The competitive context here is the battle for the SMB security operating layer — not just endpoint or SOC features. Sophos and Pax8 recently positioned their partnership to give Pax8’s network of over 40,000 MSPs a single-vendor security portfolio. Meanwhile, ConnectWise, Microsoft, and Pax8 have bundled RMM, Microsoft 365 security, MDR for Microsoft Defender, and security dashboards into a single MSP-consumable offering.

For Huntress, the new distributor relationships move it closer to the same buying layer where SMB security stacks are selected, bundled, and serviced.

Microsoft Security, citing research conducted with Bredin on businesses with 25 to 299 employees, reported that 31% of SMBs had been victims of a cyberattack such as ransomware, phishing, or a data breach. The same research found that fewer than 30% manage security in-house, with most relying on security consultants or managed service providers to select, implement, and manage security tools.

Addressing the Public-Sector and Education Gap

Vertosoft gives Huntress its public-sector edge. The distributor provides a direct path to state, local, and education organizations — a group Huntress describes as heavily targeted and chronically underserved by tools priced and built for larger private-sector buyers.

The need is well-documented. The Center for Internet Security (CIS) reports that the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) serves more than 18,000 state, local, tribal, and territorial government organizations, including public hospitals, utilities, K-12 schools, and law enforcement agencies. Current MS-ISAC member benefits expired on October 1, 2025, following changes in federal support.

Schools illustrate the gap Huntress is targeting. CIS/MS-ISAC’s 2025 K-12 cybersecurity report analyzed over 5,000 K-12 organizations between July 2023 and December 2024, finding that 82% of reporting schools experienced cyber threat impacts, with 14,000 security events and 8,100 confirmed cybersecurity incidents during the period. Separately, a RAND October 2024 survey of 957 K-12 principals found that 60% reported at least one cybersecurity incident during the 2023-24 or 2024-25 school years, including 45% reporting business email compromise scams or phishing attempts.

A Broader Platform Strategy

Huntress says its platform covers managed EDR, identity threat detection and response, managed SIEM, security awareness training, and identity and endpoint posture management — all backed by its 24/7 SOC. The company reports that its platform now protects more than 250,000 organizations and 5 million endpoints worldwide.

These distribution deals mark a significant step in Huntress’s growth from a niche security provider into a channel-driven platform reaching the SMB and public-sector markets that need cybersecurity the most.
