Spotify has added the ability to create, save, and share clips from podcast episodes on its mobile apps.
Users can tap a new clip icon on the podcast playback screen, which takes them to a dedicated UI. From there, they can trim a specific portion of the episode and save it to their library. These saved clips can then be shared from within the Spotify app using the built-in messaging feature with other Spotify users or across other platforms.
The Clips feature is rolling out globally to both free and premium users, but only on the mobile app and for select podcasts for now. Availability is expected to expand to more shows over time.
