"We expect CCG to be down modestly and DCAI to be up strongly as we prioritize capacity for server shipments over entry-level client parts," Intel stated. Zinsner hinted that Panther Lake will be "pretty expensive" initially, forcing Intel to rely on Lunar Lake chips for the first half of the year. Yields on 18A are "adequate to address the supply but not where we need them to be to drive the appropriate level of margins," Zinsner said. Intel expects acceptable yields by 2027.

Intel’s New Strategy: No More Tick-Tock

Intel’s tick-tock strategy—alternating between process shrinks and new architectures—is officially over. Instead, 18A will be a "long-lived node" powering at least three generations of client and server products. This means slower generational improvements but more stability. Intel also confirmed that its next node, 14A, is "off to a good start" with better performance and yields than 18A at the same stage, thanks to customer support.

Supply Shortages and Pricing Adjustments

Intel is managing shortages by adjusting pricing and product mix. "We are working closely with customers to maximize our available output, including adjusting pricing and mix, to shift demand towards products where we have supply and they have demand," Tan said.
