Alongside the nova 16 SE smartphone, Huawei has unveiled the MatePad Pro 2026 — a 12-inch tablet that weighs just 439g and measures a razor-thin 4.7mm. For context: that’s lighter than an 11-inch iPad Pro (444g) with a larger display.

Global Prospects
A global release is unlikely — but the recently launched MatePad Pro Max is spec-wise nearly identical and already available in some international markets. That’s likely Huawei’s strategy: China gets the latest model number; global markets get the “Max” branding.
At 439g with a 12-inch OLED and HarmonyOS 6.1’s maturing desktop-mode capabilities, this is one of the most compelling portable productivity tablets on paper — if you can get it.
