Samsung is cooking up a money-saving trick for its browser

Samsung Wants to Save You Money While You Shop

We have all been there: you are seconds away from hitting the checkout button, but you stop everything to search for a promo code. You spend ten minutes digging through sketchy websites, only to discover that every single “discount” has expired. Samsung is working on a way to end this frustration by integrating a deal-hunter directly into the Samsung Internet browser.

Meet “Good Shopping”

According to recent app teardowns first spotted by Android Authority, a new feature called “Good Shopping” is currently hiding in the code. Essentially, Samsung is building its own version of Honey. Instead of forcing users to install third-party extensions or flip between tabs, the browser will handle the heavy lifting of finding coupons automatically.

Unlike basic lists of generic codes, this tool aims to be intelligent. It analyzes your real-time browsing habits, the specific items sitting in your digital cart, and your location via IP address to track down discounts that are actually relevant to your purchase.

Once a valid code is located, the browser will offer a simple, one-tap application process, bypassing the tedious copy-paste cycle entirely.

Privacy Concerns and User Control

The idea of a browser monitoring your shopping cart and location can feel a bit invasive. Fortunately, Samsung seems to be keeping the user in the driver’s seat. The “Good Shopping” tool is expected to be strictly opt-in, meaning you can keep it disabled in the settings if you prefer a more private browsing experience.

The Bigger Picture

While a coupon finder might seem like a minor addition, it is a strategic move to make the Samsung ecosystem more “sticky.” By transforming the browser from a passive tool into a proactive assistant that puts money back in your pocket, Samsung is giving users a compelling reason to ditch Chrome and stick with their native app.
