vivo recently started teasing the X Fold6 and confirmed that the upcoming foldable will debut with a brand-new OriginOS 6 Fold software experience. The company says the update introduces fresh AI-powered productivity and multitasking features. Now, vivo has provided an even closer look at the software through a new hands-on video.
The video, shared on Weibo, showcases the multi-window capabilities of OriginOS 6 Fold running on the vivo X Fold6.
According to vivo, the foldable will introduce a feature called Parallel Mode, which lets users run up to four apps simultaneously on a single screen. The company says all four apps remain active in windowed form and can run in the foreground at the same time.
vivo says it completely redesigned the underlying framework of OriginOS 6 Fold to ensure four apps can operate simultaneously without compromising performance or smoothness.
The video also demonstrates the vivo X Fold6 running four AI assistants simultaneously via Atomic Workbench. It’s a niche use case — running four AI chatbots for different tasks at once — but if that’s your workflow, the OriginOS 6 Fold and X Fold6 are ready for it.
Of course, the feature works just as well with regular apps, letting users juggle multiple workflows and become productivity powerhouses.
The vivo X Fold6 is rumored to feature an 8-inch inner display, a 6.51-inch cover screen, and a 6,900mAh battery. It’s expected to be powered by the Dimensity 9500 SoC and could be unveiled later this month.
