Huawei has officially launched the nova 15 Max at an event in Thailand, and its headline feature is impossible to miss: an enormous 8,500mAh battery. That’s one of the largest batteries ever fitted to a mainstream smartphone.
If the device looks familiar, that’s because it is — the nova 15 Max appears to be a rebranded version of the Enjoy 90 Prime Max, which debuted in China back in March.
Specs at a Glance
Huawei hasn’t officially confirmed the chipset, but the Enjoy 90 Prime Max runs on the Kirin 8000, so it’s a safe assumption the nova 15 Max uses the same silicon. The 6.84-inch OLED panel delivers FHD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate — solid specs for a mid-range device.
The camera setup is modest but practical: a dual rear system headlined by a 50MP RYYB main sensor paired with a 2MP secondary unit, all housed in a circular camera module. An 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
That Battery Though
The 8,500mAh cell is the star of the show. It supports 40W fast charging, which should replenish that massive capacity in reasonable time. For context, most flagship phones top out around 5,000–5,500mAh — this is roughly 50% more capacity.
