Nothing Ear (3) Is Coming: What We Know About the Next-Gen Wireless Earbuds

Nothing has confirmed that the third generation of its popular wireless earbuds, the Nothing Ear (3), is on the way, building on the transparent design language and audio performance that defined the Ear (1) and Ear (2).

Design Evolution

Following Nothing’s distinctive transparent aesthetic, the Ear (3) is expected to refine the stem-style design with improved ergonomics. The signature transparent casing that reveals internal components will likely remain a key differentiator in a market dominated by matte black and white earbuds.

Audio Upgrades

Early indications point to several audio enhancements over the Ear (2). These include larger drivers for improved bass response, upgraded active noise cancellation (ANC) with adaptive transparency modes, and support for higher-resolution audio codecs including LDAC.

Connectivity and Features

The Ear (3) is expected to feature Bluetooth 5.4 for more stable connections and lower latency, alongside improved multipoint connectivity for seamless switching between devices. Nothing’s ChatGPT integration, introduced with the Ear (2) via firmware updates, is likely to see deeper implementation.

Battery and Charging

With Nothing’s commitment to longer battery life, the Ear (3) could offer up to 8 hours on a single charge with ANC off, and up to 36 hours total with the charging case. Wireless charging support and fast charging via USB-C will remain standard.

Launch Timeline

While Nothing has not announced an exact release date, the Ear (3) is expected to launch in the coming months, positioning the London-based brand to compete with premium offerings from Sony, Apple, and Samsung in the increasingly crowded true wireless segment.
