Tipster says Galaxy S27 Ultra will have slightly thicker bezels than S26 Ultra

# Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra: Small Tweaks, Bigger Bezels?

While the Galaxy S26 Ultra hasn’t even hit the shelves yet, the rumor mill is already churning out details about its successor. According to latest leaks from industry insider Ice Universe, the Galaxy S27 Ultra might actually take a slight step backward in one specific area: the screen bezels.

In the world of flagship smartphones, the goal is usually “infinity”—pushing bezels to be as thin as possible to maximize screen real estate. However, the S27 Ultra is tipped to feature 1.28mm bezels, a noticeable increase from the 1.15mm expected on the S26 Ultra. While a fraction of a millimeter sounds negligible on paper, enthusiast users often notice these shifts in symmetry and aesthetics.

It isn’t just the front of the device seeing changes. The rear camera housing is also expected to grow. Reports suggest the camera bump will increase from 4.5mm to 4.69mm. To counteract this, Samsung is rumored to be redesigning the module entirely, which could help the extra thickness blend more seamlessly into the phone’s chassis.

Hardware-wise, it looks like Samsung is sticking to a winning formula rather than reinventing the wheel. The S27 Ultra is expected to maintain a powerhouse triple-camera array, featuring a massive 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom.

As for the physical footprint, the S27 Ultra will be nearly identical in size to the previous generation. Leaked dimensions place the device at 163.76 x 78.25 x 7.97 mm, with a total weight of 218 grams.

For most consumers, these minor adjustments to the bezels and camera bump won’t be dealbreakers. However, for those who obsess over the “perfect” industrial design, the S27 Ultra might be a curious deviation from the trend of shrinking borders. Whether these changes are for structural integrity or a new design language remains to be seen.
